Hello
I'm the mother of a little girl who will be 6 in August. In the past 8 months my daughter has been operated (with laser and cidofovir injections) 5 times in order to remove a papilloma virus on her vocal cords. We have been advised to take crucifers because apparently they can help to decrease the relapses. My question is this: are there contraindications (although I'm not a doctor, I read that they can increase the production of estrogen), is this true? Are there other contraindications? Which ones? What dosage should be used?
Please help me, the situation is critical.

Dear Reader,
crucifers (cabbage, broccoli, etc.) can be used freely and  integrated into the daily diet without any prescription. They provide a good general support and prevention action against tumors. We're convinced that the consumption of this food is more than sufficient to deal with the situation that you described. Supplementing the diet with preparations that contain them is also extremely effective in improving the respiratory function and activating the removal of environmental toxins.

However, when faced with situations like this in our clinical practice, we usually use a more general approach that we describe with the motto “Raw, fresh, and colorful”. In simple terms, this means eating a small portion of raw fruit or vegetables without condiment before every meal (breakfast included). It may seem banal, but this method has proven to be quite effective in the case of children who, by definition, have an extraordinary ability for recovery.

In addition, however, remember that supplements of minerals with specific anti-oxidant and immune-regulatory actions are quite important. A mixture similar to that of Oximix 2+ in which manganese, zinc and copper are balanced together with selenium and resveratrol is advisable for dealing with a papilloma on the vocal cords. The remedy should be taken in the dosage of one measure per day for a one month cycle that can be repeated.

As far as homeopathic remedies are concerned, use a remedy such as Oscillococcinum 200 K in the form of one dose tube every Sunday until the problem is solved. This remedy has a strong antiviral action and is useful for combating the papilloma virus (HPV).

Thuya 30 CH can be used for its general action in the form of 5 granules every morning upon waking. If the child complains of throat discomfort, a remedy like Argentum Nitricum 7CH can be extremely useful because it acts upon prickly pains (as if a thorn had been stuck in one's throat). Take 3-4 granules as needed up to a maximum of 4-5 times in one day.

Finally, let us consider this fact: situations like this often reflect a collapse in the immune system that is sometimes due to important changes in the life of the youngster. The birth of a sibling, arguments in the family, a separation, etc. can be a possible concomitant cause in this situation and these aspects should always be accounted for in cases like this.

Cordially,

Gabriele Piuri and dr. Attilio Speciani
