I am a retired pharmacist affected by a bone metastasis (resulting from operated prostate cancer) located in the fifth rib and recently treated with radiation and hyperthermia with satisfactory results.
Is there a homeopathic cure that could provide me with further help?
If so, could you tell me what it is and how to use it?
Thank you and best regards.

Dear Reader,
since the metastasis is located in the bone, it's first of all important to encourage bone thickening so as to aid the body's defensive reaction.

In order to assist these processes, use vitamin C for long periods if needed, together with a vitamin D supplement, especially during the winter when the hours of sunlight are reduced. Both of these vitamins work on the depositing of bone tissue: the first stimulates collagen metabolism and the second aids in calcium metabolism.

Contrarily, taking calcium may be counterproductive because, first of all, an abuse of this mineral salt encourages bone mobilization and also inhibits the action of zinc and copper, two minerals that perform a fine stimulating action on bone deposits and immune regulation.

In these circumstances, Equisetum (horsetail) is normally used to stimulate bone depositing without introducing calcium into the body. Thanks to its balanced silicon content, equisetum aids in the ossification process.

In homeopathy there doesn't exist a single therapy for tumor metastases. In this case, one may use homeopathic medicines such as Silicea 7 CH in the dosage of 3-4 granules before bedtime for therapy cycles of around one month that may be repeated. Silicea (the same silicon that is in Equisetum) works in synergy with the aforementioned remedies to aid in bone depositing.

This remedy may be used in combination with Conium maculatum 9 CH, a preparation that acts upon glandular thickening and hardening in general. It falls under the homeopathic concept of thickening: manifestations like Fibromas, Cheloids, Warts, etc. can be interpreted as the body's attempt at raising barriers against that which it fears. Take 3-4 granules twice daily for cycles of around one month. The treatment may be repeated.

For all degenerative forms, Vinca rosea PF1 and Cochicum HD9 are important basic homeopathic products that expressly work on degenerations.

Finally, a supplement such as Oximix 2+ that contains manganese, zinc, copper, magnesium on the one hand and selenium, vitamin C and reveratrol as important anti-oxidants on the other is very advisable in the case of metastasis lesions in general. Take one measure per day at breakfast.

Our website recently published “Special: Cancer Prevention”, a re-elaboration of the guidelines formulated by the WCRF. This organization held a conference in London last November in which nutrition, exercise and tumor prevention were discussed

On this occasion, attention was focused on the important possibilities that a change in lifestyle can offer even to someone who has already been affected by a tumor. For a complete discussion, refer to the many pages dedicated to this theme on our website

Cordially,
