Too much sugar increases your risk of developing tumors. PDF Print E-mail

You don’t have to be diabetic: your risk increases even if your glycemic count is only slightly wavy. There is further confirmation of the link between an excess in carbohydrates, absence of physical activity, wavy glycemia and cancer risk. Increased insulin resistance leads to degenerative phenomena that can, however, be controlled with simple dietary instruments. You just have to want it.

There is continuous confirmation regarding the degenerative stimulus action of high glycemia or insulin levels.

We know that glycemia doesn't necessarily have to be above 110 mg/dL as is considered normal for elderly persons. A young man or woman has incorrect glycemic levels even if they have values that are constantly over 90:

A very recent Swedish study ( Stattin P. et al, Diabetes Care 2007 Mar;30(3):561-7) performed on a large group of women (35,000), revealed that a considerable risk factor was present when glycemia was high even on an empty stomach

Cancer of the endometrium, pancreas and bladder, as well as malignant melanoma, have a greater frequency (almost double) in people with levels of glycemia (on an empty stomach) that are higher than normal, independently of obesity.

This fact doesn't surprise the Eurosalus staff. Even as early as 2002, we presented the first data regarding this issue, but it's clear that the increase in statistics relative to this problem will probably bring lead parents to object to junk foods at school and learn to take their children for walks during the week.

A new awareness of preventive medicine should lead us to eat according to certain rules, like those of the GIFT diet, that leave space for a few healthy "exceptions to the rules" but teach people how to use basic dietary instruments in order to keep their insulin and glycemic levels under control.
