How to prepare for plastic surgery PDF Print E-mail
by Attilio Speciani

A surgical operation as precise and delicate as aesthetic or reconstructive plastic surgery must be able to depend upon an optimal response on the part of the skin. Tissue repair and consequently the ability to reduce the visibility of the scars and speed up the healing period is possible by utilizing the proper supplements.

The combination of the surgical techniques used by dottor Domenico Ventura, the SMA center plastic surgeon, and the procedures of nutritional treatment used in our center has proven the effectiveness of targeted supplements in the preparation for the operation itself as well as for the follow-up during the post-operative stage.

For example, it's undeniable that a correct input of Zinc, Copper and Manganese together with the supplement of Inositol and Resveratrol is able to provide the skin with a booster effect that enhances the aesthetic and psychophysical results in the post operative period. In the case of mammoplasty or abdominoplasty, for example, the desired objectives are:

  • Increase the body's defenses and reduce of possible infections
  • Stimulate the tissue's repair capabilities in order to minimize scar visibility
  • Reduction of inflammation in order to reduce swelling
  • A direct action on post-operative swelling

The procedure is generally conducted according to the following standards:

Pre-operative phase and immediate post-operative phase

At least 15-20 days before surgery and for the entire period of the first post-operative phase:

  • Oxiprolinates of Manganese, Zinc, Copper, Selenium, Lysine, (Oximix 2+ in the dosage of 2 measures of 5 ml. per day)
  • Resveratrol in the dosage of at least 300 mg. per day (Resvital, 2 capsules per day)
  • Inositol at least 4-5 grams per day (9 tablets of Inosima before the 3 main meals)

Post-operative recovery period.

For 15 days after surgery the same procedure should be followed for at least one month, but at reduced dosages:

  • Oxiprolinates (Oximix 2+) in the dosage of 1 measure per day
  • Resveratrol in the dosage of 1 150 mg. capsule per day.
  • Inositol in the dosage of 3 grams per day (2 tablets before the 3 main meals)
