Inositol: these are the dosages that can also be useful in the case of depression PDF Print E-mail

I am writing to you because of a problem with Panic Attacks and anxiety. I was taking several psychological drugs but I didn't obtain significant results, actually I would say that the problem became even worse. After reading one of your articles on inositol and its anti-depressant and depurative effects, I decided to take 4 grams per day, put aside the antidepressant drugs and within 10 days I noticed a great improvement.
At this point I would like to ask how long and at what dosages can I continue to take Inositol
Thank you for your advice.

Dear Reader,

The page dedicated to Inositol is quite clear in reference to suggested dosages whether in the case of prolonged use or in case of a more intense, but shorter treatment.

Inositol isn't specifically used to treat depression, but many studies have confirmed its usefulness in this situation as well. In our clinical experience, this vitamin has always proven to be helpful when one wishes to reduce the use of medicines or improve one's mood state. For this reason we consider it a good support product.

In an acute phase, inositol may even be taken at a dosage of 5-6 grams per day, the equivalent of around 9-10 tablets every day. A dosage of this sort should be used for no longer than a week or 10 days at maximum.

A dosage of 4 grams can be taken for 4-6 weeks without difficulty. After this period, the dosage must be reduced to 2-3 grams per day: this dosage may be taken for long periods if necessary.

However, once the dosage of inositol is reduced, it's necessary put into act all of the measures necessary in order to continue along the road that you have decided to take. What we mean by this is the pursuit of a calm insulin state, the regular practice of aerobic physical activity and the regulation of any possible food intolerances.

For a more complete discussion of this subject, please refer to the numerous pages on our website that are dedicated to the Gift Diet method, sport (especially running) and food intolerances.

Cordially,
