Hello,
I would like to know what the difference is between Histaminum and Orthohistaminum...
Thanks in advance for your response.
My regards.
Dear Reader,
Histaminum and Orthohistaminum are two similar products that work as natural antihistamines by acting upon the allergic symptom. When used at their usual dosages (5CH, 7CH, 9CH), their action is for the most part symptomatic in that they favor the reduction of general inflammation within the body.
From an exquisitely technical point of view, the term “ortho-” stands for an addition of dynamization. When a homeopathic remedy is prepared, it's necessary to pass through two important processes: dynamization and dilution. While the dilution (thinning out) works on the primary effects of the remedy, the dynamization defines the range of the remedy's secondary actions.
Orthohistaminum and Histaminum differ in the number of dynamizations: the first is dynamized 200 times and the second (as is normal for all homeopathic remedies) only 100 times.
Another characteristic that differentiates the Orthohistaminum product concerns the souches omeopatica from which the remedy originates. The souches is the first liquid preparation of the initial raw substance that is subsequently diluted during each phase of the preparation of the homeopathic medicine. In classic homeopathy the souches isn't always defined in chemical terms of concentration, while in the case of Orthohistaminum, we always start from a concentration of defined histamine (1mg/ml.).
Our website as a whole and our clinical practice revolve around the search for a meeting point between complimentary medicine and traditional medicine. We are convinced of the effectiveness of natural treatments but we are also persuaded of the importance of guaranteeing a scientific basis that documents the effectiveness for all medical research. It is on these foundations that we have always strived to integrate the various aspects of alternative medicine with all of the parameters of scientific communicability that pertain to Western science.
With these principals well in mind, Orhtohistaminum has been formulated to provide a homeopathic medicine that is able to have a definite concentration for each subsequent dilution. For example, if 4 DH corresponds to 1 mg/ml, 5 DH corresponds to 0,1 mg/ml and so on... Only in this way is it possible to communicate in a correct manner the results that are obtained from scientific studies.
It is precisely for these reasons that we prefer to use Orthohistaminum 9 CH in our clinical practice if we require its symptomatic action or its various decimal dilutions (6DH, 7DH, 8DH and 9DH) when we use an individualized preparation that was identified through a DRIA test.
However, this doesn't detract from the effectiveness of the homeopathic Histaminum medicine that is supported by decades of experimentation and testing.
When one seeks a symptomatic action in the case of allergic conditions, both medicines are appropriate. However, when we desire an individualized action in response to a DRIA test result or we need to refer to a chemical concentration that related to a scientific plan, Orthohistaminum is the correct medicine to use.
Cordially,
