I’m 54 and I have a slim figure, but my problem is my abdomen. My waist circumference is 102 cm. and this worries me. The doctor told me that this is visceral fat which is difficult to get rid of. I am on a diet, actually I always have been, because I eat very little. Now I follow a balanced diet, but the centimeters are always concentrated in the stomach area, I have trouble moving and I look like I’m pregnant. Can you give me some suggestions?
Thank you.

Dear Reader,

Visceral fat is typical of the metabolic syndrome and is a direct expression of insulin resistance. We don’t want to scare you with this term, but instead give you an interpretation that will help you fully understand how to modify your eating habits and reduce the accumulation of abdominal fat in a natural way.

First of all, in order to reduce insulin resistance, it's necessary to activate the metabolism. To begin with, it's important to insure a good intake of protein at each meal. Every meal must be composed of one third carbohydrates, one third proteins and one third fruit and vegetables. This includes breakfast. A diet that is deficient in protein causes an excessive fluctuation in blood sugar concentration and thus a massive use of insulin. This is greatly reduced if all meals include carbohydrates and proteins.

Secondly, it's important to use only whole grain cereals. This means choosing brown rice as well as whole wheat pasta, bread, cookies, etc. Thanks to their greater fiber content, whole grain cereals slow the intestines' absorption of sugar and modulate the glycemic variations (that is, blood sugar concentration).

These simple habits will help you to easily reduce the visceral fat. As we said earlier, you need to concentrate on activating your metabolism as much as possible.

A good metabolic stimulus starts with giving the body the correct intake of energy. If you don't eat enough, the body becomes accustomed to working on less and, for fear of starvation, it transforms the little food that it receives into fat reserves in order to prepare for a time of famine.

In order solve this problem it's important to distribute meals properly.

In the morning the body needs a great amount of energy: an overly abundant breakfast is a very strong stimulus for the metabolism that greatly improves the management of energy throughout the day. Therefore breakfast must become the most abundant meal of the day and dinner, instead, must be light.

As far as dietary supplements are concerned, a product such as Oximix 6+ can be used. The right balance of magnesium and chromium helps improve insulin sensitivity by restoring general balance. Take a measureful every evening for therapeutic cycles of around 60 days which can be repeated after intervals of 1 month.

In addition, conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) can also be used. This special oil's signal action improves the utilization of deposited fat that is transformed into energy. The dosage of a product such as Tonalin Oil is 2 gel caps per day, one at breakfast and one at dinner, for therapeutic cycles of around 2 months which can be repeated during the year.

Refer to the pages on conjugated linoleic acid for further reading.

Cordially,
