Can homeopathy help me treat a papilloma on my tongue? PDF Print E-mail

Dear Eurosalus Staff,
I have been diagnosed with a papilloma on my tongue and my doctors have advised me to have it removed by laser. I would like to know if the papilloma is a signal that something is wrong in an organ.
Thank you for your advice and kindest regards.

Dear Reader,
first of all, we would like to pause a moment and consider the concept of hardening in homeopathic theory. Manifestations such as Papillomas, Warts, and Polyps on the skin can all be considered as signals of the body's attempt at “mental” defense.

This same concept may e extended to more serious conditions such as uterine fibromas and breast lumps up to manifestations such as Dupuytren's disease and Induratio Penio Plastica (IPP).

To simplify matters, let's think of a normal callous. If we repeatedly stimulate an area of the skin, even with the slightest mechanical stress, after some months a layer of hyperkeratinization will form in order to protect the underlying tissues.

Someone who plays a musical instrument like the guitar is very familiar with these manifestations. The fingertips of the left hand (that usually press the cords against the guitar's fingerboard) develop a corny layer that is thicker than that of the other hand ( that usually acts on the plectrum) because of the continuous rubbing of the fingers against the metal strings.

In a broader and more complex way, when our body is put under a continuous stress, whether psycho-emotional or psycho-physical, it tends to erect non-specific barriers to protect against the possible damages that stem from repeated stimulations.

Typically, these persons have always been afraid of being attacked and place protective physical barriers between themselves and the cause of their fears

Based on these premises, the homeopathic treatment for a manifestation like a papilloma on the tongue utilizes a homeopathic medicine such as Thuya or Conium maculatum.

Thuya 5 CH will be used if the patient is particularly sensitive to cold and cannot stand to be exposed to a cold and humid environment. The manifestations occur predominately on the left side of the body.

On the other hand, Conium maculatum 5 CH is preferable in situations in which the papilloma is accompanied by the insurgence of a general slow-down of physical as well as mental functions. The manifestations occur on the right side of the body.

The dosage for both remedies is 3-4 granules morning and evening for therapeutic cycles of one month which may be repeated.

Continuing with the concept of defense, the treatment could include three tube doses of Calcarea carbonica 200 CH to be taken at a month's distance from one another. In addition to having an intense general action, Calcarea carbonica works especially on polyp manifestations

Along with the homeopathic therapy, one can effectively apply Vitamin C, Selenium, and Manganese supplements. These vitamins and minerals are important for regulating free radicals and have a central role in the treatment of degenerative forms.

What's more, Manganese and Vitamin C perform important regulatory actions on the metabolism of collagen and connective tissue in general.

Cordially,
