Does stress cause vulvovaginitis candida or is it vulvovaginitis candida that causes stress? PDF Print E-mail

A women's title to think about the causes of one of the most widespread disorders of the female genitalia . The latest research has highlighted that women suffering from vaginal candidiasis are often "exhausted" and their morning cortisol production (which would be an indication of good health and ability to adjust) is down to extremely low levels.

It still remains to be understood whether it is the candida that consumes all their resources or whether it develops easily in already weakened organisms.

The research

Furthermore, the scientific paper (Ehrstrom SM. Am J Obstet Gynecol 2005; 193: 1376-81) highlighted a higher frequency of bacterial vaginosis infection, cystitis, herpes and condyloma, together with annoying vaginal discharge, evidence that women suffering from candida have poor immune resources available. In all the above mentioned cases the response to stress and difficult situations is complicated and inadequate.

We can therefore compare the onset of candida to the onset of a recurrent inflammation, or to an allergy, and it is easy to consider that behind the insufficient response of the immune system there is a situation of intense change (emotional or physical). A similar situation certainly facilitates the onset of similar types of disorders.

How to tackle Candida

To treat a vaginitis caused by mycetes, often complicated by a cystitis or bacterial vaginosis, the appropriate approach is first of all behavioral. The right diet and some precautions (for example, avoiding the use of tights which prevent air circulation and facilitate the stagnation of dampness in the vaginal area) are often enough to treat uncomplicated forms of the disorder.

In my clinical practice I often deal with complicated cases. People suffering from severe forms of the disorder often also need hyposensitization (a sort of "vaccine" against the candida), such as the one that can be set up with a DRIA Candida and suitable mineral support, with particular reference to the anti-infectious effect of Zinc and Copper; therefore, I prescribe a product based on Oxiprolinati of Manganese Copper and Zinc in the morning and a product based on Chrome (with a powerful insulin control effect) in the evening: they improve the degree of sensitivity to the substance.

A diet that keeps insulin and its inflammatory action under control, known as the GIFTdiet, can truly become the keystone to cure these disorders. And each person can individually use different techniques to achieve total re-balancing.

In practice, a minimum diet, the use of a vaccine with a hyposensitizing action and mineral supplementation can help you recover your well-being or cure the problem and reduce the severity of relapses.
