Mesoinosite, or Inositol, or vitamin B7 is one of the most important remedies in processes of detoxification of the human body. Chemically speaking, it’s a very simple sugar that stimulates and activates the mitochondrion (the cell’s “lungs”) thus facilitating their breathing and activating all of the cleansing processes of the cell or organ.

Inositol is indispensable for creating a state of equilibrium in all body tissues possessing a high concentration of mitochondrion; practically speaking, the “noble organs” such as the heart, brain, immune system and liver, but also the muscle that must be able to produce energy with correct cell respiration.

Inositol is a sugar and, ingested as such, interacts with stomach acidity by balancing itself with the other sugars, transforming itself and thus modifying its action. It must therefore be injected or administered with IV therapy. If, on the other hand, it is taken orally, it must be administered by way of gastro-resistant tablets that can pass undisturbed through the stomach and get to the duodenum where the inositol is absorbed in its integral form, without being altered in any way.

Suggested products

We suggest the product Inosima 500 (produced by Promin), composed of gastro-resistant tablets containing 500 mg of inositol each. Since June 2008 the producer removed from the tablet any trace of saturated fat, using instead the more ecological beeswax. Another product is Dima Hepa (produced by Solgar) tablets composed of 333 mg of Inositol combined with Choline and Methionine.

Dosage

Inositol is an interesting product and as such can be used in different dosages.

In a condition such as acute intoxication (for example after a food intoxication, after a heavy antibiotic or cortisone treatment, after anesthesia for surgery, or as is often the case, between and after a cycle of chemotherapy) the dosage can vary between 3 to 6 grams per day. The usual dose is 3 to 4 tablets after the three main meals or in any case, three times a day for a total of 10 to 12 tablets a day.

For prolonged treatments, as in the case of chronic liver dysfunction, in the aftermath of hepatitis, in liver steatosis, or in minor situations that nevertheless require constant detoxification, for example, acne, some forms of bad digestion, or in the case of poor intestinal absorption or irregularity, 2 grams per day of inositol may be sufficient. The treatment consists of 2 tablets before breakfast and 2 tablets before dinner to be taken with a glass of water.

Duration

This remedy is meant to be taken like a dietary supplement and, in cases of acute treatment for detoxification, its use is limited to 7 to 15 days when taken without medical supervision. At lower dosages, this substance may be used for prolonged treatments.

Other uses

It is interesting to point out that Inositol was recently found to be of value in the treatment of cases of panic attack or depression syndrome. Therefore, depression therapy is yet another area where this substance is useful.

It is important to remember that in the case of intoxication by heavy metals, by mycotoxins like Ochratoxins or the Aflatoxins that contaminate foods, the use of this substance along with other antioxidants like Vitamin C and Selenium often helps the body to maintain its equilibrium and health despite the environmental pollution that surrounds us.
