Euphrasia PDF Print E-mail

Euphrasia is a noteworthy remedy from the family of homeopathic remedies. It can be used in many ways for various disturbances. It is mainly used for skin and eye disorders. In fact, it’s one of the most common remedies for the treatment of allergic conjunctivitis and eye inflammation and can be taken orally or used in the form of homeopathic eye drops.

Euphrasia can be used in granule or drop form or in mixed compositions that are prepared by various companies. For information regarding the usage of homeopathic remedies, please refer to the specific link on the main menu FAQ homeopathy.

Dosage

The standard dosage is usually 3 granules (or 5 to 6 drops) to be taken twice a day.

During acute phases, the remedy may be taken every 10-20 minutes. Reduce the frequency of the doses as the discomfort subsides.

Eye drops are available in various compositions, sometimes in combination with chamomile (euphrasia and chamomile eye drops) or alone as in the product Collirio all’Euphrasia D4 made by Wala or Weleda. This product is generally to be used once or twice a day depending on the patient’s initial condition.

Duration

The duration of the treatment may be extended over a long period of time (in the case of chronic or recurring forms) under the supervision of a doctor.

When a remedy is used without a prescription, it is best to seek medical advice before extending treatment beyond one month.
